Search Me
Search me, oh Lord, and reveal to me
Some wicked way I fail to see.
Show me the things that I’ve done wrong,
Those hidden things that don’t belong.
Not just the hurt I’ve caused someone,
But all the things I should have done...
The sins of omission -
As well as commission.
Help me to see from your holy view -
The things I should and shouldn’t do.
Surface my sins, make them clear and plain.
Let not one ugly spot remain.
Then convict me of each one I see,
That I might humbly bow before Thee.
Grant true repentance as I confess,
Seeking your mercy and forgiveness.
Cleanse me of every sin I pray,
And help me to walk the righteous way.
The desire of my heart is to live for you,
Abiding by your word in all that I do.
So, search me Dear Lord, and purify me -
That my life would bring glory and honor to Thee.
"Search me, oh God, and know my heart"
